Europe ’18 Day 3: I Cross Lines

Borders fascinate me. Always have.

I spotted a point on the map where a road follows a relatively straight line across a national border between Ireland and the United Kingdom that is anything but straight.

So, of course, I had to go.

I was rewarded with a few great photos and a bit of road geekery. And some driving adventures, as the remains of Hurricane Helene generated quite a windstorm while I was in the border region. Several large trees were down across the highway; one is pictured below.

Fortunately, I made it back to Dublin without incident and the storm has largely blown over since then.
