And now, for something completely different …
I almost flew around the world in 72 hours.
So, my travel route here may look a little crazy. It probably is.
But the thing is … I wanted a special travel companion with me. So I few from Tunis to Seattle, stayed in Seattle for 22 hours, during which I picked up my daughter. And then the two of us flew to a place she very much wanted to visit: Japan.
I’m sharing here photos from our first two days in Japan, which were spent in Kyoto.
One of the highlights of the trip was meeting long-time friend and Lightroom collaborator, Jeffrey Friedl. Though American born, Jeffrey has lived in Kyoto for most of the last few decades. Having a bilingual guide to show us around the city was invaluable. And it was just fun to finally meet in person.
These photos feature cherry blossoms and the Inari and Heian temples.

Footnote: I posted this article on 15 July 2019, but have backdated it to fit the timeline from when I was in Japan.
